Officer Chris Major
Auburn Police Department, School Resource Officer
Auburn Junior High School

I am the School Resource Officer at AJHS and began working in the schools in 2006.  I have been a Police Officer since 2001 and am a graduate of the State University of New York at Oswego with a BA in Public Justice.  Prior to becoming a Police Officer I worked as a case worker for Seneca Cayuga ARC and for the Office of Children and Family Services.  My primary role is to ensure a safe environment for the students and staff.  I enjoy going to the classrooms teaching a variety of classes such as internet safety, bullying, drug and alcohol awareness and much more.   I hope to make the children feel comfortable when talking to the Police and have them understand we are there to help them.  I encourage the children to come visit with me anytime they feel the need to talk about something and I remain visible in the hallways so they get comfortable with me being in their school.
